Greece condemns North Korea missile launch

Greece has condemned North Korea’s launch of a powerful new intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) and urged Pyongyang to “desist taking any fresh action that could endanger peace and stability in the region.”

“The act is a violation of international law and undermines international security and stability,” the Foreign Ministry in Athens said in a statement.

The latest test Tuesday was the highest and longest any North Korean missile has flown, landing in Japan’s exclusive economic zone.

The UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting on Wednesday to discuss the issue.
