Bombs go off in Thessaloniki and Corinth
The entrance to an apartment building in the Kalamaria district of Thessaloniki, northern Greece, was damaged when a makeshift explosive device was detonated by unknown assailants on Thursday.
According to reports, the blast on Konitsis Street occurred in the early morning hours.
Police said the explosion didn’t cause a fire but shattered windows and damaged walls.
Meanwhile in Corinth, an ATM outside a bakery was blown up by robbers.
Police said the assailants made off with an undisclosed amount of money.
The explosion damaged the bakery and a neighboring store.
Police were investigating what sort of mechanism was used in the blast.
