Minister announces payment schemes for social security debts
A provision allowing taxpayers and enterprises with debts to social security funds of up to 20,000 euros to pay off their arrears in 120 installments will be presented for ratification within the next few days, Deputy Labor Minister Tasos Petropoulos said on Thursday.
He added that there will be an additional provision allowing debts up to 3,000 euros to be paid in 36 installments.
Petropoulos told lawmakers that some 90 percent of outstanding debts to funds date back to before the end of 2014 and as such are burdened with significant late fees.
