Right-wing extremists seen behind August bomb attack on anarchist squat

TAGS: Crime

Five men were arrested early on Thursday morning in connection with a makeshift bomb attack on an anarchist hangout in Piraeus last August.

The suspects, aged 18 to 25, are believed to be member of a far-right group and officers from the police’s counterterrorism department are currently searching their homes.

The squat on Navarchou Voutsi Street, unofficially known as the Favela “social gathering space,” was attacked with two makeshift bombs in the early hours of August 29.

No injuries were reported, though the blast did damage the single-story building’s entrance.
