Turkey expects to receive first batch of F-35 jets in next 12 months, reports say
Turkey expects to receive its first batch of Lockheed Martin Corp F-35 stealth fighter jets within the next 12 months, Turkish media report.
The exact number is not specified.
According to the same reports, the particular aircraft type can handle short take-offs and vertical landings, making it compatible with Turkey’s amphibious multi-purpose combat frigate Anadolu TCG, currently in development.
Previous reports have said Turkey aims to eventually purchase a total of 100 jets.
