Greek authorities rescue 20 migrants off Corfu
Greek coast guard rescued 20 migrants from Iraq whose boat was in distress at sea near the Ionian island of Corfu on Wednesday morning.
They were located after making an emergency call to Greek authorities.
Authorities said they arrested a 25-year-old man from Ukraine, believed to be the captain of the 13-meter US-flagged vessel “Meyyale,” on suspicion of human trafficking.
The migrants were transferred to the port of Corfu.
