Folklorist and curator of Arts & Historical Resources for the City of Tarpon Springs, Florida, Tina Bucuvalas will be in Athens on Tuesday, June 12, to deliver a lecture on “Public Folklore in the USA Today,” at the National Historical Museum, starting at 7 p.m. The acclaimed ethnographer and folklorist is best known for her work on the cultural heritage of Greeks hailing from the island of Kalymnos who immigrated to Tarpon Springs. Her lecture will be in English with simultaneous Greek translation and will be followed by a discussion with the audience. The event is free of charge.
