KYSEA extends tenure of Armed Forces chief

The Government Council for Foreign Affairs and Defense (KYSEA) has extended the tenure of the chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff (GEETHA), Admiral Evangelos Apostolakis, a statement by the Greek prime minister’s office said Tuesday.

Apostolakis, who first assumed office in September 2015, will serve for a fourth consecutive year.

Meanwhile Tuesday, Apostolakis met with Marine General Joseph Dunford, the chairman of the US military’s Joint Chiefs of Staff, who was on an official visit to Greece.
