Armed robbers hold up post office in east Athens
Two armed robbers held up a post office in the populous east Athens suburb of Acharnon on Friday morning, making off with whatever cash they could grab from the registers.
According to police, the robbers had their faces covered and shot in the air to warn staff and customers at the Filadelfia Avenue branch of the Hellenic Postal Service (ELTA) from trying to prevent the holdup.
An investigation is under way.
