Medieval Treasures | Athens | To January 13

“Treasures of the Middle Ages,” on show at the Byzantine & Christian Museum through January 13, presents 445 objects, mainly jewelry, from the collection of Poland’s National Museum of Archaeology in Warsaw. Dating from the 11th to the 13th century and made of materials including silver, gold, copper, glass and semiprecious stones, the artifacts were either were unearthed during the last century in archaeological excavations in Poland, Belarus and Ukraine or donated by private antiquities collectors. The show also includes a special section on a collection of 36 precious 11th century objects discovered at Borucin in central Poland in 1856. Opening hours are Tuesdays to Sundays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and admission costs 4 euros.
