OLP at loggerheads with construction firms over cruise terminal tender

Piraeus Port Authority (OLP) and the construction groups that have resorted to justice over the terms of the cruise terminal expansion tender have taken up battle stations.

At stake is not just the 135-million-euro project, but also whether an entity that proclaims a tender is allowed to exclude companies that have in the past been involved in cartel practices but reached a settlement accepting their share of the blame.

Construction companies Terna and J&P Avax complained to the regulator that the terms of the OLP tender favored rival companies, and after the regulator rejected their case they have taken it to the Council of State.
