North Macedonia Prime Minister Zoran Zaev said Tuesday that the Balkan country had turned “a new page” in being accepted into the NATO security alliance under its new name.
“The future is no longer fateful. We have succeeded in putting our country on the right path. We are becoming the 30th full NATO member. We are becoming a secure country. It’s a new page in our history. Long live the Republic of North Macedonia,” Zaev said in a tweet.
The Balkan country is expected to formally adopt the name later this week.
