Skalkottas Tribute | Athens | February 15
The Athens Concert Hall will be hosting the Athens State Orchestra and Brazilian pianist Nelson Freire in a tribute to Greek composer Nikos Skalkottas on Friday, February 15, conducted by Stefanos Tsialis. The evening will begin with Skalkottas’s Symphonic Suite No 1 while the second part will feature a performance of Johannes Brahms's Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No 2 in B flat major, Op 83. The concert, at the Megaron’s Christos Lambrakis Hall, starts at 8.30 p.m. and there will be an introductory talk for ticket holders at 7.45 p.m. Tickets cost 5 to 25 euros and can be purchased at the Megaron website.
