Clawback dues could soon be offset by spending on clinical research
The Health Ministry is considering measures to ease the pressure on pharmaceutical companies from the clawback system, which demands the return to social security entities of any company revenues in excess of what the state budget had provided for.
Sources say that the ministry, after cooperating with a special committee of the Economy and Development Ministry, views as positive the offsetting of clawback dues with the expenditure of pharmaceutical industries on clinical research.
The same sources add that there may be a draft law to that end soon, thereby boosting investment in the sector.
