Police warn of email scam

The cyber crime unit of the Greek Police (ELAS) on Tuesday launched an investigation into several fraudulent emails received by members of the public and with ELAS Police Headquarters as the purported sender.

The text of the email, sent from the email address [email protected], was written in poor English and said that the recipients’ bank accounts had been hacked.

The emails were reported by various recipients.

The cyber crime unit has urged people who receive such emails not to reply or reveal any private financial information.
