Admission of failure

COMMENT

The government has suddenly sprung into action, rushing to close the Afandou sale, clear the way for the Elliniko development and sell 30 percent of Athens International Airport.

If so many other last-minute measures of recent weeks suggest a bid to boost votes, the sudden haste over privatizations is an admission of how much time it has wasted – even if it’s not telling us how much this will cost in money and jobs.
