Petrified tree’s root system found on Lesvos
A team of geologists and excavation and conservation technicians have dug up the extensive root system of a petrified tree on Lesvos, as part of the largest ongoing rescue excavation organized by the Aegean island’s Natural History Museum of the Petrified Forest along the new Kalloni-Sigri road.
