Three ancient Greek coins…

An archaeologist holds three ancient Greek coins from a group of 48 which were returned to Greece yesterday by Sweden. The coins were excavated by Swedish archaelogists in 1922 at the ancient site of Asine in the Peloponnese but were then considered lost for several decades. The coins were found at two Swedish universities in 1977 and were finally returned by Greece’s ambassador in Sweden, Evangelos Karokis, who handed the artifacts to Culture Minister Giorgos Voulgarakis.
