US-BRITISH RIVALRY: Kathimerini political correspondent Ilias P. Dimitrakopoulos had a long and extremely interesting interview with the commander of the US Sixth Fleet in the Mediterranean, Admiral Thomas Cobbs, on the naval cruiser Northhampton, the flagship of the US fleet. Admiral Cobbs referred to what is a very serious issue for European defense and the security of Greece, that is, the question of the expediency of keeping the fleet in Mediterranean waters. In addition, the US admiral clearly set out his views on the usefulness of the aircraft carriers and expressed his complete opposition to the opinion on this matter expressed by the deputy commander of the Atlantic Command, British Field Marshal Montgomery. ZOE KARELLI: New books: “The Ship,” a collection of poems by Zoe Karelli, Athens, 1955. “Tales in the Garden,” Athens, 1955, and “Cassandra and other Poems,” Athens, 1955, all by the same author. NO ORGIES: According to an announcement by the Interior Ministry, reports in yesterday’s daily press that orgies had taken place at an estate in Maroussi are completely unfounded.
