STEFANOS SARAFIS: In a tragic accident in Alimos yesterday afternoon, Stefanos Sarafis, a retired general in the National Liberation Army and a parliamentary deputy for the United Democratic Left, was knocked down and killed by a passing vehicle. His English wife Marion, 43, was seriously injured. Sarafis, 67, and his wife were crossing the coastal road and were close to the median strip when a car traveling from the airport toward Faliron, driven at high speed by a 23-year-old American airman, struck Sarafis and his wife. During an investigation by US Air Force officers, two small bottles of beer were found in the car, one of which had been emptied...
