Selection: Michalis Katsigeras

CALLING FOR TRAIN STATIONS: A committee comprising residents of Kalogreza, Aghioi Apostoloi, Brahami, Kato Magoufana, Psallidi, Tsouba, Arkouda, Aghios Thomas, Paradeisi and Nerantziotissa-Amarousion have issued a memorandum observing that “contracts with the Electrical Railways Company (EHS) only provide for service to the towns of Nea Ionia, Amarousion and Kifissia and none between Neo Iraklion and Amarousion. In this inhabited area through which the train travels over a distance of 6 kilometers, no bridges have been built nor any other overpass apart from those dating from the time of the steam train, nor has a single station been provided to serve the inhabitants of the above areas. The committee asks that the government and Parliament take an interest by building at least one station on the long section between Neo Iraklion and Amarousion. COSTAS VARNALIS: There will be a celebration of 50 years of poetry by Costas Varnalis tomorrow morning at the Ideal Theater. The actors Kyveli, Aleka Katseli, Eleni Nenedaki and Manos Katrakis will read excerpts from the poems.
