MAKARIOS AND HARDING: Nicosia, 9 - Ethnarch of Cyprus Archbishop Makarios had a two-hour meeting today with the governor of Cyprus, Sir John Harding, at the home of the archdeacon of the Anglican Church. According to an official communique issued after the meeting, the agenda focused on a future constitutional regime for the island. It was agreed that further talks would be held. A large military contingent guarded the archdeacon’s home during the two officials’ meeting. According to the Associated Press correspondent here in Nicosia, the talks began right after the end of a meeting between Governor Harding and the leader of Cyprus’s Turkish minority. According to the correspondent, the ethnarch had said that he would agree to any decision on the Cyprus issue that comes from the United Nations, as long as it was subject to the approval of both Greece and Great Britain. CYPRUS STRUGGLE: Nicosia, 9 - Cypriot patriots injured the assistant deputy director of Nicosia prison and staged a bomb attack on a British military canteen.
