EARTHQUAKE IN VOLOS: A strong tremor that lasted for some time shook the town of Volos yesterday afternoon at 6.55 p.m. It was the third time an earthquake had struck the town within two years. According to information at hand, there was one death and 42 injuries. Thousands of people are homeless. The minister to the prime minister, Mr Georgios Rallis, left Athens at 9 p.m. hoping to arrive in Volos at 5 a.m. today to direct the efforts to bring aid to the victims of the earthquake. TERRORISM: Nicosia, 19 - The British authorities are continuing with their terrorist activities against the Greek-Cypriot patriots. Armed British troops wearing helmets carried out extra patrols last night within and around the Cypriot capital, searching vehicles for explosive material and anti-government proclamations. (...) The patrols were the result of anti-British proclamations by EOKA, distributed during the Resurrection service outside the Church of the Phaneromenoi. The proclamations warned that British blood would be shed if Great Britain did not change its stance.
