MENDERES AGAINST MAKARIOS: Ankara, 18 – Turkish Prime Minister Adnan Menderes today officially criticized Britain for freeing the Cypriot ethnarch, Archbishop Makarios, but added that bilateral cooperation between Turkey and Britain would continue toward finding a solution for the Cyprus issue that will satisfy the interests of both countries. Menderes then went on to condemn the Greek government for organizing the rallies to welcome the ethnarch home, which they said were excessive and showed Greece’s acquisitive designs.
