ESPIONAGE: Paris, 19 (From our correspondent) - The Paris Press has published details of a report that a Mr Barbalias, secretary at the Greek Embassy in Moscow, has lost the diplomatic code. The newspaper claims that the Greek public is in an uproar because it appears that during the search for the lost file, a foreign power was apprised of Greek diplomatic secrets, particularly regarding the US-Greek military agreement. Nevertheless, reliable diplomatic circles say it is entirely impossible for anyone to make use of the code, as it had not been enforced and Greek diplomats would not be able to record diplomatic secrets of such magnitude in code. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Foreign Ministry’s official council is to meet tomorrow to examine the case of the lost code. GREEK BONDS: London, 18 - Prices for Greek bonds have continued to rise on the London Stock Exchange, with some reaching their highest levels ever. This is partly based on encouraging but nebulous hopes that Greece’s foreign debt will be settled, and partly on reports that the international bank will approve a substantial loan for Greece.
