Airbus A320 is added to Aegean’s fleet

ANA

Iraklion Mayor Yiannis Kourakis (r) reveals Aegean Airlines’ new Airbus A320 yesterday, named after the Greek author Nikos Kazantzakis. Iraklion airport, where the ceremony took place, also bears the name of the Cretan writer and is the company’s hub. This is one of the three new aircraft that Aegean has just added to its fleet. Theodoros Vassilakis (l), the company’s president, stated that these airplanes will be used for charter flights to Poland, Romania and Russia, within the context of the firm’s efforts to boost tourism from those markets. ‘In a period of tough conditions in the global economy, we will be strengthening our network further after expanding it to seven new destinations in the last 12 months,’ Vassilakis said.
