Attica on target for 2008, sees drop-off next year

The Attica department store, which operates one of the city’s largest retail outlets, expects to meet its full-year 2008 targets but revised expectations lower for next year.

The retailer said sales in the first 10 months of the year rose by an annual pace of 23 percent.

For the full year, it sees sales at 100 million euros, up 20 percent in comparison with the previous period.

However, annual revenue growth for next year is seen as slower, between 5 to 10 percent, as the financial crisis starts to weigh on consumer habits.

Consumer growth accounts for about two-thirds of the Greek economy.
