“ETHEL, Athens’s city bus company, will provide much of the transport,” its managing director, Constantinos Kokkoris, told Kathimerini. “That’s why ETHEL will be getting an additional 63 kilometers (39 miles) of bus lanes, and there will be 21 new Olympic lines. Buses will travel along the Olympic ring 24 hours a day. Spectators will be able to use all public transport, including ETHEL buses, free of charge on their way to and from the events. The cost of Olympic transportation will exceed 20 million euros.”

The new lines will connect car parks and some electric train and metro stations with the sporting venues and the Olympic Village.
