Handover of bullet-proof vests...

EUROKINISSI

Two members of the police’s Zeta Force prepare for patrol duty in central Athens yesterday. Earlier in the day, members of the force had attended a special ceremony in Syntagma Square, organized by the main police workers’ union (POASY) in association with the European Confederation of Police (Eurocop), to mark the handover of bullet-proof vests for Greek police officers. Police safety has become a prime concern following a spike in attacks on officers by a new terrorist group, culminating in the killing of a witness protection officer in Athens last month. The Sect of Revolutionaries has vowed to stage more attacks.
