Officially returned to Greece...

EUROKINISSI

Members of the Dahlgren family from Austria stand next to a fragment of the Acropolis that they officially returned to Greece yesterday during a ceremony in Athens. The 7x30 cm marble frieze fragment was, according to an inscription, taken from the inner colonnade of the Parthenon in February 1943 during the three-year occupation of the capital by Axis powers. Martha Dahlgren inherited the piece from her grandfather.
