A priest looks at an anarchist symbol...

PANTELIS SAITAS/EPA

A priest looks at an anarchist symbol that was spray-painted onto one of Athens Cathedral’s columns on Christmas Eve. Several hundred protesters marched through the center of the Greek capital on Christmas Eve to demand the release of dozens of people who were arrested during recent rioting. Some demonstrators chanted ‘Priests, thieves, pedophiles’ outside the cathedral, tore down a Greek flag and daubed graffiti on the 19th-century building. The vandalism led to the Wednesday evening service at the cathedral being canceled.
