Early morning bomb...

ALEXANDROS BELTES / ANA

Workers helped clear up the debris left behind by an early morning bomb blast at a bar-restaurant in Marina Zea, Piraeus, yesterday. The explosion was caused by a homemade device believed to have been planted at the bar’s premises by representatives of a rival business. The Costa-Costa bar was closed at the time of the blast, shortly before 5 a.m. yesterday, so nobody was injured. The explosion triggered a fire, which was contained by firefighters before it was able to spread to adjacent buildings.
