A large crowd...

ORESTIS PANAGIOTOU/ANA

A large crowd of university students protested outside Parliament yesterday, protesting a reduction in state funding and new legislation foreseeing stricter assessment of state universities and the creation of private colleges. Students staged a similar rally in Thessaloniki. There were no reports of any violence, though there were brief clashes late on Thursday night outside a school in Thessaloniki where pupils have been staging sit-ins to protest inadequate infrastructure. Pupils clashed with anarchists who broke into the school.
