Ethical Treatment of Animals...

PETROS GIANNAKOURIS/AP

Animal rights activists, wearing fake bearskin hats and little else, hold up a banner outside the British Embassy in Athens yesterday to protest the use of bearskin hats by guards outside London’s Buckingham Palace. Police briefly detained the two British women after the protest which was organized by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). A third protester, not detained as she had dressed by the time police arrived, said up to 100 Canadian bears are killed each year to produce the 18-inch black hats.
