Blaze in popular Athens park shocks locals


THANASSIS DIMOPOULOS/EUROKINISSI

A volunteer firefighter tries to get a grip on the situation yesterday after a large fire broke out in a popular park in Kaisariani, eastern Athens. Two helicopters helped dozens of fire engines fight the blaze which had been brought under control by late afternoon. There were no reports of any injuries and the extent of the damage caused was unclear.
