Traders sit at an open-air fruit-and-vegetable market in Trikala, central Greece, yesterday. Produce prices have risen in the wake of heavy snow that damaged crops in many parts of the country. This prompted the Development Ministry to say yesterday that it would step up the checks that its inspectors carry out on markets.
