A 23-year-old woman who recently returned to Athens from New York became yesterday the fourth confirmed person in Greece to be suffering from the potentially fatal H1N1 swine flu virus.

The Health Ministry said that the woman, who arrived in Greece on Thursday, was suffering from a heavy cough, migraines and a runny nose. She did not have a high temperature, a key symptom of the virus, because she had been given some medicine after seeing a doctor in the USA. The woman contacted the Hellenic Center for Disease Control & Prevention after being given an information leaflet upon arrival at Athens International Airport. After testing positive for swine flu, she was taken to the Sotiria Hospital.

Two Greek students who contracted swine flu in Edinburgh are still being treated at Athens’s Sismanogleio Hospital. Doctors said their health is improving and they should be discharged soon.
