Alex’s parents plead for help

The mother and stepfather of 11-year-old Alex Meshivili, who disappeared in Veria, northern Greece, last February, have pleaded with the one of the five youngsters accused of killing the schoolboy to tell authorities the truth about what happened.

Sources said yesterday that Alex’s mother, Natela Ichuadze, and his stepfather, Dimitris Sianis, went to the home of the 13-year-old Albanian boy, who is due to testify today, to ask him to reveal details about Alex’s disappearance.

Sources said that their visit on Monday night led to a confrontation with the 13-year-old’s parents, who filed harassment charges against the missing boy’s family.

The incident came just hours after the first of the five accused schoolboys to testify told a magistrate in Thessaloniki that three adults helped hide Alex’s body.
