The endangered refugee housing complex...

The endangered refugee housing complex on Alexandras Avenue, central Athens, shows through a rent in a giant tarpaulin used by Athens 2004 organizers to mask the neglected 1930s buildings — and other city edifices deemed unlovely — during the Olympics. Athenians successfully fought off government plans to demolish the complex before the Games and create a park in its stead.
