Two women arrested in global escort ring

Two women thought to be part of a worldwide escort service involving well-known models were arrested in Athens yesterday, police said.

Authorities said the two suspects, from Brazil and Argentina, were arrested in an Athens hotel by police officers posing as customers.

The undercover police officers had agreed to pay each women –1,300 and –600 after making an agreement through a website.

The women said that they paid their share of the money to ring organizers via a bank account under the name of “Victoria,” police reported, but offered local authorities no further information.

A more than –1 million monthly operation, the escort service is apparently based in London and operates in a number of European cities, police said.
