A child celebrates the lighting of the Christmas tree in Nicosia’s Eleftheria Square along with hundreds of other Greek Cypriots yesterday as fireworks explode in the background. The lights on Athens’s Christmas tree in Syntagma Square are due to be switched during an event on December 15, Mayor Dora Bakoyannis said on Wednesday.
