World Day Against AIDS...

Lefteris Damianidis/ANA Megapress

A youngster sprays graffiti, warning against the risks of AIDS, on the wall of the Apollon Kalamaria soccer ground in Thessaloniki yesterday. On the occasion of World Day Against AIDS, the Health Ministry announced the launch of an action plan to curb the spread of the disease. The plan foresees cooperation with other ministries and organizations to increase awareness about the risks of AIDS among youngsters and improve checks on the quality of blood at hospitals. Meanwhile Archbishop Christodoulos expressed his solidarity with AIDS sufferers and stressed that ‘the AIDS problem is not just an issue of control but chiefly of prevention.’
