President Karolos Papoulias...

VANGELIS VARDOULAKIS/ANA-MPA

President Karolos Papoulias (c) walks alongside King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa (l) as they inspect the Royal Guard. Papoulias is on a two-day visit to the Persian Gulf kingdom as part of a wider tour of Arab states. The president expressed hope that the ‘crisis’ over Iran’s nuclear program would be solved peacefully. He said that the world would be ‘plunged into chaos’ if the problem was not solved. Papoulias added that he was ‘optimistic’ a diplomatic solution could be found. Meanwhile, it was revealed yesterday that Greece is to open an embassy in Qatar.
