Firefighters brace for a long, hot summer

Two water-dropping aircraft and 10 fire engines were involved in the firefighting effort. No residential areas came under threat, firefighters said. The government has recruited more firefighters as the risk of blazes intensifies with rising temperatures but there are fears that equipment is inadequate.
