Greece’s Chief of General Staff Admiral Panayiotis Hinofotis (r) and his Turkish counterpart Yasar Buyukanit review a special forces military honor guard at the Greek Defense Ministry yesterday. Buyukanit is the first Turkish military chief to conduct an official visit to Greece. The two men are to discuss the implementation of trust-building measures between their two countries’ militaries. Sources say these talks will touch on subjects as sensitive as the ‘casus belli’ - Turkey’s insistence on regarding Greece exercising its right to extend its territorial waters in the Aegean as a declaration of war.
