HARIS IORDANIDIS/ANA

A combination of three pictures shows the demolition by explosives yesterday of one of the main industrial monuments in the northeastern town of Kavala, the seafront Nikoletopoulos Mill grain silo. Built in 1937, the silo become one of the town’s main landmarks, and a protest was held yesterday before its destruction. It will be replaced by an office building. The rest of the mill complex was knocked down three years ago.
