Humanitarian conditions in Gaza...

SIMELA PANTZARTZI/ANA

A protester holds a baby doll during a rally in Athens on Saturday when some 5,000 people marched to the Israeli embassy to express opposition to the bombing and ground offensive by Israeli forces in Gaza. The protest ended with some demonstrators scuffling with riot police. The march was organized by the Greek Social Forum, anti-war organizations, the local Palestinian community and trade unions. It also had the support of PASOK. A separate rally was organized by the Communist Party yesterday. Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis said Israel’s ground offensive made the humanitarian conditions in Gaza worse.
