Sex ring traced to Thessaloniki

Police in Thessaloniki said they have traced a human-trafficking ring alleged to be bringing foreign women into Greece to provide sexual services to clients who have selected the escorts over the Internet.

Officers from the northern port city’s vice squad conducted a raid at a hotel in Thessaloniki on Saturday, arresting a 25-year-old Hungarian woman believed to have been flown into Greece to meet “clients.”

According to police investigations, ring members posted photographs of young foreign women – some purportedly models – on the Internet for prospective clients to select from. These women allegedly visited these clients in their cities of residence and delivered services for between 250 euros and 1,200 euros each time. The women would spend between four and six days on each visit, meeting several clients, officers said.

Police are continuing their investigation in coordination with their counterparts in other European cities, officers said.
