Social security system...

EUROKINISI

A pensioner protesting outside the Finance Ministry in central Athens yesterday calls for higher social security benefits. Pensioners have joined workers in protesting against the conservative government’s reforms to the social security system, which are seen as reducing benefits and raising the retirement age for certain groups of workers. The Employment Ministry is expected to submit a draft bill, including the pension reforms, to Parliament today as workers announce further strike action to take place in coming days.
