Tibetan protest follows IOC to Athens

YIORGOS KARAHALIS/REUTERS

A Tibetan activist lies on a sidewalk outside the Hilton Hotel in central Athens, where the International Olympic Committee (IOC) was yesterday concluding a three-day conference. Seven members of the Students for Free Tibet group were protesting the Olympic torch relay and demanding that the IOC put pressure on China over the issue of human rights. Nobody was injured during the protest and no arrests were made by the police who moved in to disperse the protesters.
